Jewell Hartung

Jewell Dean Hartung, 96, of Sand Springs, Oklahoma, passed away at her home on October 13, 2026. She was born in Sand Springs on May 17, 1930, and lived a life filled with family, laughter, and the things she loved most.

Jewell married Marvin Hartung in 1947, and together they raised three children: Carolyn, Becky, and Joe.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy F. Dickerson and Mary L. (Henry) Dickerson; her beloved husband, Marvin, in 2016; her daughter, Carolyn, in 1999; and her faithful four-legged companion, Traci, who brought her love and companionship for many years.

She enjoyed spending time at the lake, gardening, and caring for animals of all kinds. She found happiness in the simple pleasures of life and treasured the time spent doing the things she loved.

Jewell is survived by her daughter, Becky Wickett, and her husband, Delbert; her son, Joe Hartung, and his wife, Joyce; and six grandchildren: Christy Reese (Kevin), Brian Wickett (Donna), Terri Hoipkemier, David Wickett, Athena Smith (Josh), and Hypatia Runfola (Andrew).
She also leaves behind six great-grandchildren: Natalie Osborn (Brandon), Chelsea Wickett, Travis Reese (Brittney), Brian H. Wickett (Dani), Noah Hartung, and Flynn Smith; and three great-great-grandchildren: Brian “Beamer” Wickett, Ryan Osborn, and Cora Wickett.

Jewell will be lovingly remembered by her family for her humor, her strong-willed nature, her love of animals and the many memories she created throughout her 96 years.

Private graveside services will be held at a later date.
