Alberta M. Anderson Obituary (1946 - 2017)

Alberta M. Anderson, 87 of Sand Springs, Oklahoma passed from this life on Thursday, January 5, 2017 in a Tulsa hospital. She was born March 9, 1929 in Rogers, Arkansas, to the late Joseph Elmer Clayton and Sarah Elizabeth Fields Clayton. Alberta married the late Lloyd George Anderson on February 15, 1946 in Clark County, Arkansas and later moved to Oklahoma where they resided. Alberta worked in health care, working as a Cottage Supervisor for many years. She was the Founder of an 18 year old Bunko Club in Sand Springs, a member of the Cotillion Dance Club in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Sand Springs. Alberta loved to work in the yard and attend her beautiful flowers. She enjoyed cooking, reading, and LOVED watching Judge Judy at 4:00 p.m. so most people knew not to call here during that program. She was very active in many things but her family was of most importance. She was a true giver of many things and loved taking care of children, especially those with special needs. Alberta is survived by one son, Lloyd Ray Anderson and wife Cheryl of Sand Springs, Oklahoma; one daughter, Beverly S. Walker of Sapulpa, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Kayre Pryor, Rusty Walker and Jeff Walker; her companion and dance partner, Joseph McRuiz of Tulsa, Oklahoma; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and numerous friends and extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers and one sister. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at the Dillon Marler Dighton Funeral Home Chapel at Woodland Memorial Park, 1200 N. Cleveland, Sand Springs, Oklahoma 74063.
