Alvis Browne Obituary (1925

Alvis Eugene Browne, 85, of Branson, Missouri, formally of Sand Springs, Oklahoma, went to be with Jesus on December 6, 2010. Eugene was born on January 28, 1925, in Blocker, Oklahoma to Freddie and Ruy (Howell) Browne. He graduated from McAlester Senior High School in 1943 and enlisted in the United States Army-Air Force during World War II, serving overseas. After Eugene was honorably discharged from the military, he worked and operated the family cattle ranch for many years. He married Pearla Stevens on August 3,1951 and they had four children. Pearla passed away on July 29, 1978. Gene then married Lois Watts on October 6, 1982, The couple recently relocated to Branson, Missouri were they have lived the past three years. Eugene is survived by his wife, Lois Browne of the home, son Freddie Browne of McAlester, daughter and son-in-law Karen and Courtney Light of Rolla, Kansas; three sisters, Patricia and husband Reverend Woodrow Stevens of Oklahoma City, Mary and husband Lew Crowl of McAlester, and Ruyana and husband Gary Fugitt of McAlester; eight grandchildren, Jamee (Light) and husband Justin Floyd, Jacob Light, Tyler Light, Kelsey Light, Kevin Browne and wife Jodi, Stefanie (Browne) and husband Jaron Hall, Krysty Browne, Justin Browne and wife Ashley. He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Pearla Browne, two sons, Steven Browne and Kenneth Browne, and sister, Dorothy Butler. Graveside funeral services will be held on Friday at 1:00 p.m., December 10, 2010, at Memory Gardens Memorial Park Cemetery in McAlester.
