Billye Shore Obituary (1922 - 2012) - Sand Springs, Oklahoma

Billye Novy Shore, a long-time resident of Lawton, OK entered her heavenly home on May 12, 2012, just 2 days after celebrating her 90th birthday. Billye was born to William and Velma Novy in Verdon, OK on May 10, 1922. After graduating high school, Billye moved to Oklahoma City where she joined the war effort, working at Douglas Aircraft on the C-4 7 cargo carriers. She later worked at Haliburton as a stenographer and at the Baptist Bookstore. During this time she met a handsome medical student, Robert Shore, and they were married in 1946. During Bob's tour of duty with the Atmy, they lived in Germany and then in England where her first daughter Paula Elaine died at age four. In 1953, Billye and Bob moved to Lawton which would be there home for their marriage of 37 years. Billye was a devoted homemaker. Her creative talents included sewing, growing flowers (gorgeous roses), making flower arrangements, interior decorating and keeping up with the latest fashions. She showed her love for our country by keeping the flag flying in the front yard and always voting. Billye loved to smile, laugh and have fun. Billye was dearly loved by those who knew her. People often commented that she was one of the sweetest people they'd ever known. During the last 10 years of her life, Billye resided in Jenks, OK near her daughter, Daphne Dinsmore and son-in-law, Lex Dinsmore. Billye is also survived by two grandsons: Cody Dinsmore of Tulsa, OK and Dustin Dinsmore and wife, Julie, and great-granddaughter, Addison Mae of Frisco, TX; sisters, Willie Mae Nichols of Edmond, OK and Charlotte Shubert of Chickasha, OK; cousin, Geraldine McClung of Lawton; nephews Dr. Curtis Nigh of Oklahoma City, OK and Nick Nichols of Edmond, OK and many other nieces and nephews.
