David Wayne Powell Obituary (1970

David Wayne Powell was born July 14th, 1970 in Tahlequah Oklahoma. To Randy Wayne Powell and Ozella Kay Powell. He passed away Friday November 5th, 2021 in Kellyville Oklahoma. David joined Vocational agriculture in the mid 80s. He raised 3 hogs for show! The show had gotten shut down due to a microscopic parasite! Oh boy dad was not happy about that! Until he got to have some delicious pork at the dinner table! David raised them exactly how it was needed to provide. Haha... David liked riding horses with his buddies. David also enjoyed a little martial arts! He was pretty good with them nunchucks! David was an Adventurous boy! David was first to do anything! He was the first one to dive off a 30 foot cliff! Not jump, Dive! He looked like Superman flying through the air with no fear at all! Three of us brothers David, Jeffery, and Justin were walking out to the tree house. It was a dark night! David was the first to lead us down the dark path! "Ya know", the big brother's duty to protect us, as he had no fear. Jeff and Justin A little nervously clinging on David just in case! All three stop in their tracks as they see something unexplainable! Oh my!! David was the first one to run the heck out of there! David was our big brother, Our hero! With his big muscles and his no fear attitude! He was our bodyguard throughout high school. Nobody picks on my little brother's but me! "David would say"! He used to always say he was Jeff's wingman on Friday and Saturday nights! He was the best man for Jeff's first wedding! When David was in his early twenties, he decided to take off to live with a friend named Keith. In North Carolina! He was hired for a job selling a cleaning product going door to door! He would tell us stories of how him and Keith went to a place called "Bust your butt falls"! He would have this huge grin while telling the exciting stories of this place. Laughing and having a good time reminiscing! David had two boys Logan born September 15,1990 and Dylan Powell born March 24th, 1999. David would talk about how he loved fishing and hanging out with his son Dylan. You can see on his face that those were the moments that were very cherished! When the boys' momma was at the end of life stage, David would insist on staying with her to be there to comfort her, help care for her and talk about old times. He even broke out the harmonica and played her a tune! He sure was excited to let her hear how good he was with that harmonica! The past few years David pretty much lived "off grid" exploring nature, fishing, and spending time with his dogs. Trying to find peace within himself. He also enjoyed finding pieces of nature and painting them or creating a piece of art out of the things he found! Sometimes he would give them to family. David loved his family, music, dogs, nature, and a stiff drink! That was David!
