Derrick Maurice Kellum, Sr. Obituary (1971 - 2020)

On August 21, 1971 a bouncing baby boy was born to Arthur and Barbara Kellum; they named him Derrick Maurice Kellum. Derrick spent his formative years growing up in and attending school in Sand Springs and the Sand Springs School District. At an early age, Derrick attended the Buford Colony Church of God in Christ. Derrick enjoyed playing pool, attending family gatherings and hanging out with family. Derrick departed this life on Monday August 17, 2020 and traded in his feet for wings; he was met at Heavens Gate by his father Arthur Kellum; his mother Barbara Kellum; his grandmother Clezie Kellum; one sister Lois Vanessa Jones; five brothers: Joel Vincent, Tyree, Kenneth Wade, Alvin Gary and Roy Kellum; three uncles: William Kellum, Alfred Kellum and Richard Kellum; two aunts: Fannie Patrick and Arretta Haynes and a great aunt Elnora Zackery. Derrick leaves on this earth to cherish his memory; his son Derrick M. Kellum, Jr.; three sisters: Yvonne Kellum of Tulsa, OK; Dawanna Kellum of Sand Springs, OK; Tonya (Edwin) Price of Tulsa, OK; one aunt Erma Jean Adamson of Frisco, TX; a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. "God could see that you were weary, so he came and stood beside you and whispered, "Come, my child, and rest."
