Emma Lee Luper Shotwell
Emma was born in Siloam Springs Arkansas to O. B. & Mary Beam Luper on Tuesday, January 21, 1936. She was welcomed to heaven by Jesus and reunited with her sweetheart Charley on December 7, 2021. She was preceded in death by her parents, parents-in-law Olen and Lottie Shotwell, spouse of 44 years Charley Shotwell, brother Howard Luper, brother-in-law John Neil and wife Sadie, brother-in-law Gene Shotwell, nephew Philip Ray Luper, grandson Adam Shotwell and many other aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
She was survived by a family that already misses her dearly including her son Joe Shotwell and wife Vickie, daughter Debbie Sparks and husband Kevin, sister Donna Logsdon and husband Will, and sister-in-law Carmen Shotwell. She was devoted to her grandchildren Mike and Candace Marshall, Kendall Shotwell, Amy Pabitzky, Travis and Sally Pabitzky, Joe and Lauren Cochran and Nicholas Sparks. She was thrilled with and cared for her great-granchildren Jaxen, Addily, Aynslee, Brody, Lane, Kynlee, Olivia, Hailey and the newest one on the way who is sure to inherit her wit and charm. She enjoyed and loved her nieces and nephews, David and Kate Luper, Jeanne and Andy Kramarczuk, Bartley and Dana Logsdon, Brent and Jennifer Logsdon, Matthew and Sara Logsdon, Dan and Marilyn Shotwell, Carol Shotwell, David and Cindy Acord and Mike Neil who were important to her as well as their children (and their children).
She was always involved in church and out-reach ministries through her church which included Eastside Assembly of God, Lewis Avenue Assembly of God, Prue Assembly of God, Sand Springs First Assembly of God, and most recently Carbondale Assembly of God. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, traveling, helping others, playing the piano, playing board games, tennis, pickle ball and volunteering. During her lifetime she worked at a local nursing home, southern gospel music promoter, concert/event ticket sales office and a doctor's office.
She was a good cook and enjoyed Mexican and Italian food with frequent cravings for a good old-fashioned hamburger and fries at Arnold's hamburgers. The most frequently requested foods at family gatherings were her king ranch chicken, homemade ice cream, vanilla wafer cake and Mississippi mud.
She was a quiet but impactful lady who was very protective of her family. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Go fly high on that mountain Miss Emma, we wish you peace and will see you in heaven soon.
