Eula Mae Veeder Obituary (1929 - 2014)

Eula Mae Veeder, age 85 of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas passed from this life and went to be with her Lord Jesus Christ, on Monday, March 3, 2014 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Eula Mae was born on January 23, 1929 in Halstead, Kansas to Ivan and Juanita (Roeder) Lawson. When Eula Mae was working in a Drug Store in Cherryvale, Kansas, she met her sweetheart, Leon. She attended a Business School, while still completing high school. On June 26, 1947 she married Leon Veeder. Soon afterwards, they moved to Tulsa so Leon could attend the University of Tulsa. Eula Mae worked at Public Service Company of Oklahoma, while Leon attended college. After college the couple moved to Skellytown, Texas then to Pampa, Texas and back to Cherryvale, Kansas, before finally settling in Ardmore, Oklahoma, where they raised their three daughters. Upon retirement, Leon and Eula Mae moved to Hot Springs Village, Arkansas where they lived the remainder of their lives. Leon preceded her in death in 2000. At one point during her life, because of Eula Mae's love of crafts and needlework, she bought and successfully ran the Needle Point It in Ardmore. When she and Leon moved to Hot Springs Village they were active members of the Presbyterian Kirk in the Pines, where she volunteered for different charities such as the Rice Depot and Teen Challenge. She loved gardening, golf, cooking and entertaining friends and family. Later in life, she married Lyle Stofferahn, who preceded her in death. She is survived by three daughters; Linda Hundley of Broken Arrow, Debbie Kaighn and husband Charles of Raleigh, North Carolina and Sandy Minardi and husband Joe of Jenks, a brother Max Lawson and wife Virginia of Wichita Kansas, a sister Donna Lawson of Ardmore, seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
