Glyn Wells Obituary (1926 - 2010) - Sand Springs, Oklahoma

Glyn Melvin ?Mutt? Wells, age 84 of Sand Springs, passed from this life on September 22, 2010 in Tulsa. Glyn was born on February 20. 1926 in Madisonville, Texas to Leslie Waters and Audra Faye (Spraker) Wells. He joined the Navy during World War II as a Fireman First Class. After he was honorably discharged, he married Leta Pearl Batson on November 25, 1949 in Huntsville, Texas. He went to work in the Oil and Gas Pipeline Industry where he worked for over sixty years. Mutt was a charter member of the local union #798 in Tulsa and he was recently placed in the Pipeliners Hall of Fame. He enjoyed reading, watching old westerns and reading his Bible daily. Glyn is survived by his wife Leta Wells of the home, two daughters Leta Dianne Carson and husband Tim, Faith Elayne (Laney) Stearns and husband Barry, two sons Melvin Howard Wells and wife MaryAnn and Kenneth Ross Wells and wife Cathy, a brother Harold Gene Wells and wife Pat, nine grandchildren Dr. Rodney Shaffer, Tyler Carson, Jeremy Wells, Rachel Cannon, Lacy Cunningham, Jason Wells, Derek Wells, Whitney Stearns and Joshua Stearns, six great grandchildren Madison and Aidan Shaffer, Victoria, Dalton, Lauren and Rowen Wells and many nieces and nephews. Also surviving Glyn from a previous marriage is a son Terry Wells and wife Annetta, three grandchildren Shelly Wells, Chris Wells and Robin Boerner and four great-grandchildren Ashley, Morgan and Kayleigh Boerner and Samantha Wells. He was preceded in death by his parents Leslie and Audra Wells, an older brother Garland Wells and a grandson Toby Funeral services will be held Saturday, 10:00 a.m., at The Sand Springs Church of God 4th and Grant, with Dr. Jeff Wells officiating. Burial will follow at Woodland Memorial Park Cemetery in Sand Springs with Military Honors. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Dillon Funeral Home Sand Springs, Oklahoma
