Henry Moore Vernon, age 89 of Tulsa, passed from this life on Wednesday, October 2, 2013 in Tulsa. H.M. was born on February 3, 1924 in Tulsa to Millard and Mary (Thomas) Vernon. He grew up in Red Fork and attended Porter Elementary in west Tulsa. H.M. enlisted in the United States Army in 1943 during World War II. After his honorable discharge H.M. worked for McMichael Concrete Company. He later owned & operated a trash dump. He worked for the last 40 years as a Boilermaker for Local union #592 in Tulsa. He is survived by wife Gusta Harrold of the home, Son; David Vernon of Mannford, daughters; Susan Fisher and Rusty of Tulsa, Nancy Tripp of Tulsa and Kelly Griffith and husband Lonnie of Bristow, Grandchildren Matthew Vernon, Daniel Fisher, Alyssa Fisher, David Jacobs, Melissa Chenoweth, Tyler Harrington, Sia Harrington, Micara Rice, April Weygandt and Adam Griffith. Also surviving Henry are three great grandchildren Jimmy Chenoweth, Jaxton Rice and Abigail Cloud. H.M. was preceded in death by his parents; Millard and Mary Vernon, 1st wife Leta Carter, 2nd wife; Betty Pop, brothers; Willard and Earl Vernon, sisters; Thresa and Mildred. Granddaughter; Amanda Vernon.
