Jackie Dean McBurnette Obituary (1927 - 2017)

Jackie "Jack" Dean McBurnette died peacefully at the Jack C. Montgomery VA Medical Center in Muskogee, Oklahoma on Friday, December 22nd, 2017, at the age of 90. Jack McBurnette was born on March 11, 1927 at Morningside Hospital in Tulsa, OK to John Talmadge and Ollie Pearl Hughes McBurnette. At the age of 17, he joined the US Navy and served in World War II. He married his childhood sweetheart, Alethea Marie Mikeman on April 20, 1947 in Wewoka, Ok. Mr. McBurnette has lived in Tulsa, OK since 1957, where he worked at Bethlehem Steel Company, and then started his own construction company, Bromack Construction, with Harold Brown. Jack loved to fish and spend time with his great grandchildren. Mr. McBurnette is survived by his daughter Penny Quinnelly, of Wagoner, OK, sister Bobby Jean Stackhouse of Durant, OK, Granddaughters Valeska Barr and Shelby Rowe, and Great Grandchildren Austin Greer, Trevor Greer, Tabitha Littlefield, Hannah Littlefield, and Micaiah Kaiser. He is preceded in death by his wife, Marie McBurnette, his parents and 6 siblings. In accordance with his wishes, Mr. McBurnette's body has been donated to the OSU Center for Medical Sciences. Memorial Services will be held on January 21st, 2018 at 2 p.m. at the Dillon Marler Dighton Chapel at Woodland in Sand Springs Ok. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to The Alzheimers Foundation in memory of Jackie Dean McBurnette.
