Johnny Leon Cannon Obituary (1948 - 2022)

John Cannon was born on 10/31/48 in Tulsa, OK and passed away on 11/15/22. He was a retired truck driver for Screaming Eagle Trucking and a veteran of the United States Navy. Survivors include his wife Gail Cannon of Tulsa, son, Dewayne E. Whitaker and daughter in law Kim Whitaker of Chelsea. He also leaves behind a few grandchildren and great grandchildren in Maryland and in OK. He was preceded in death by his sister ,Trula Bennett and parents, Richard and Lawanda (Drymon) Cannon. He was loved by many and he believed in God and his son, Jesus. John served our country the Red, White and Blue for our freedom. He was a great husband and he loved his wife, Gail, dearly. He was a good stepfather to Dewayne and loved his daughter in law Kim. He was a good grandfather and great grandfather, a great friend to many, and had many truck driver friends. Fly High Screaming Eagle Johnny. A small graveside service will be held Monday, 11/21/22 at 10:00 am at Memorial Park Cemetery, 5111 S. Memorial Dr., Tulsa, OK 74145. Johnny said no fancy dressing.
