Joseph "Joe" McElrath passed from this life on January 4, 2019 at his home in Sapulpa, Oklahoma at the age of 89 years. Joe was born on February 12, 1929 in Drumright, Oklahoma to Stanley and Rosa (Berry) McElrath. He attended Drumright and Olive schools and served in the United States Army from 1950-1952 in Germany. He married Norma Howerton on June 5, 1954 in Cassville, Missouri, his wife of 53 years. He worked at CE Invalco for over 28 years. His hobbies included; carpentry, building doll houses and sports. The highlights of his life were his family, especially his grandchildren. Joe was always pleasant and good natured. Joe is survived by children; Cynthia Morgan and husband Don of Sand Springs, OK, Roger McElrath and his wife Kim of Sapulpa, OK, Teresa East and her husband John of Sand Springs, OK; grandchildren, Cassie Michell, Katie East, Nick Morgan, Lauren Robinson and Joey McElrath; great-grandchildren, Alyssa Mitchell, Trace Mitchell, Brighton Avey, Chase Avey, Charlotte Avey, Blake Robinson and Ruby Robinson. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Norma McElrath, siblings; Sissy Gilbert, Clayton McElrath, Bill McElrath, Alice Rooks, Myrtle Taylor, Rod McElrath and Dean McElrath A celebration of life is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Monday, January 7, 2019 at Woodland Memorial Park Cemetery in Sand Springs. Rev. Hershel Martin will officiate the services. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Joe's life. Services have been entrusted to Dillon Funeral Service.
