Marilyn Elaine White

Marilyn White, age 76, formerly of Sand Springs, OK, died in Tulsa OK, on November 10, 2014.
She was born on August 31, 1938 in Tulsa, OK, to William and Alice Marie Bower (Reid), both of whom preceded her in death. She was one of six children, four of whom preceded her in death.
She was a graduate of Sand Springs High School, and she worked several jobs before becoming a homemaker when she married Charles Lee White in 1961. They were married 33 years, and he preceded her in death in 1994.

During retirement, she enjoyed visiting friends and family, playing cards and dominoes, watching NASCAR and basketball, and preparing for the birth of her first great great grandson Daxton, who was born October 28, 2014.

She is survived by her sister, Anita McCumber, sister-in-law Clara Bower, nieces Alicia Fair and Debbie Thomas, nephews Eddie McCumber, Rickie Bower, and Roger Bower, and three great nieces and two great nephews. She is also survived by her large step family: daughters Janie Lee Wilde and Belinda Sue Hastings, son Robert White, six grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and one great great grandson.

A celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, November 15 at the Dillon Smith Chapel at Woodland Park Cemetery, casual dress encouraged. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to the local chapter of the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
