Andrew Robert “Andy” Ethridge Obituary (1975 - 2022)

On Wednesday, September 28, 2022, Andrew Robert "Andy" Ethridge, loving husband and father, passed away at the age of 47. Andy was born on March 16, 1975 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Harry and Judy Ethridge of Catoosa, Oklahoma. He married Andrea Thompson on May 17, 1997. They raised two daughters, Avery and Ayrin. Andy volunteered in the youth ministry at Christview Christian Church, where he also met Andrea, after attending Lincoln Christian College and Oklahoma State University. He never missed a youth trip, all-nighter or camp and often taught Sunday School or led a small group. He was a faithful believer in Jesus Christ and had been selected as a deacon at both Christview and Southern Hills Baptist Church. He was a talented runner in high school, running track and cross country, and still has his name on the wall at Catoosa High School as a part of the fastest 4x800 relay in school history. Andy combined his passion for running and his passion for student ministry by volunteering at Metro Christian Academy where the girls attended school. First he volunteered with track but cross country quickly followed. Andy was a successful real estate investor which afforded him flexibility to attend all of his daughters' functions, appointments, practices, scrimmages and games. Andy doted on his girls and his favorite outing during their younger years was to take them to the park after school. He was present. He was a leader. He was a provider and a protector. He was the glue that held everything together. He truly was a jack of all trades. Andy also volunteered in the men's ministry at Southern Hills Baptist Church where he led a Bible study on Wednesday nights. It was a men's ministry event that introduced him to his first of what would be dozens of pheasant hunts. Andy was quiet, but knowledgeable, and he had a special way of actively listening and providing wise advice. He is survived by his wife, Andrea, two daughters, Avery and Ayrin, parents Harry and Judy Ethridge, brothers Joel and Erick Ethridge, and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. A funeral service to celebrate Andy's life will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2022 at 1:00 pm at Southern Hills Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations in Memory of Andy will be used to provide youth mission trip scholarships and may be sent to Southern Hills Baptist Church, 5590 South Lewis Avenue, Tulsa, Oklahoma 74105.
